It's such a huge blessing to have these photos that capture so many essential moments – our expressions during the vows, our parents and friends looking on, action shots like the stomping of the glass and the cutting of the cake, the ceremony, and the big kiss. Beyond all these essentials, he caught many sweet, candid moments with us and our guests that we truly cherish.
Nick brought a real sensitivity to some of the things that were most important to us in planning our wedding: Rich wild color, our setting in the redwoods – he had a great way of showing the scale of the trees and our tiny figures among them – and just the playful goofy quality that we wanted in the ceremony and reception.

We ourselves barely noticed that he was there after our initial portraits before the ceremony. Of course whenever we needed him he was right at hand, and he had a great sensitivity without much direction on our part for who was who and which moments happening all around us would be precious ones to capture.

Nick was with my wife and I throughout the entire wedding day. He showed up bright and early at our home as we were getting ready, and he stayed until the bonfire at the end of the night. All the while getting great shots of the ceremony, reception, and the little details in between. He was hands on when we wanted him to be, helping us to relax for some of the more 'posey' shots, but he also knew to step back when we wanted some alone time. Your wedding is one where you only want close friends/family around, so were a little skeptical of having a photographer around the whole day, but Nick fit effortlessly in like we had known him for years. Oh, and again, the pictures...fantastic. The lighting, the composition, and the fact that unlike some other wedding photographers work, his photos seem very natural.
